powered parachute powerchute

Building powerchutes for working Americans

$5395.00

Ready to fly. Complete with chute, engine and prop. Just add gas and fly :)

The standard USA-1b easily makes FAR 103 weight and requires no license to fly

the USA-1B shown above has optional wheels/tires/disc brake/instruments/poly seat/dual tanks/3-blade prop and Rotax 503 engine

options are described below

The Airframes Unlimited USA-1b is the result of many months of hard work, number crunching and flight testing. As we designed the USA-1b our goal was to provide working Americans with a safe, reliable and durable high performance part 103 powerchute with a ready to fly price of under $5400.00.

I am proud to tell you that we have succeeded :)

The USA-1b was designed to fly wonderfully with a 32-55 horsepower 2 cycle engine. Contrary to what you may have read on the internet, it does not take a large, expensive engine to fly a heavy pilot on a hot summer day. All it takes is a properly designed powerchute.

With the optional Rotax 503 engine even 300+ pound pilots can fly and enjoy great performance.

The USA-1b was long term flight tested with a variety of engines ranging from the super smooth Kawasaki and Fuji 340 and 440 engines to the Rotax 377, 447 and 503 engines. All of the engines tested produced great thrust (that's what gets you into the air, not horsepower) and perfect reliability.

The critical component allowing us to use the above mentioned engines in an efficient way is our new cog belt reduction system. We worked closely with the designer to come up with what we consider to be the most reliable, trouble-free, quiet reduction system available at any price.

This new reduction system requires much less maintenance and upkeep than the gearboxs that we have used for a generation.

Those that use our new reduction will never have to change gearbox grease again. Our new reduction system also does not make the gear noise that we are used to. Owners of powerchutes equipped with this new reduction system will most likely never have to adjust the drive belt. But if adjustment is ever necessary, it only requires one wrench and about 30 seconds to do it. I call that low maintenance :)

The engines utilizing our new reduction system are mounted inverted giving the powerchute a much lower center of gravity and increasing its stability on the ground.

The standard engine(s) on the USA-1B vary depending upon what engines are in stock at the time you place your order. We utilize good clean used and rebuilt Kawasaki and Fuji 440 engines and also the Rotax 377/447 engines as standard equipment on the USA-1B. Any of these engines will lift a 200+ pound pilot on a hot day. If you prefer a certain engine for your plane we will do our best to get that particular engine for you. Just let us know your preference.

The price for a ready-to-fly USA-1B is  $5395.00

We do not include any instrumentation on the USA-1b but do offer it as an option. We will also gladly provide you with phone numbers where you may purchase your own instrumentation if you like.

The USA-1b comes with rigid suspension as do 99.9% of all ultralight aircraft. Ultralight aircraft do not require expensive, heavy shock suspension, or for that matter, any suspension at all. They only require a warm body at the controls with an I.Q. slightly above room temperature :)

If someone tells you that suspension is required to properly land a powerchute, run the other way quickly. He's really telling you that he has no idea of how to land a powerchute.

The $5395.00 USA-1b comes with :

new all steel airframe, welded by professional aircraft welders

new  400' chute, storage bag and line sox

new  72" two blade Ivoprop (on the smaller engines)

new Azusa wheels and 400x6 rib tires

a variety of good, reliable manual start engines

The USA1-b airframe is available in black, white, HD orange,  red, or blue.

Oh, and did I mention that the USA-1b will fit into the back of any pickup (even imports) with the tailgate down? You don't need a trailer.

The  "USA-1b" sells for $5395.00 fully assembled and ready to fly

shipping is available anywhere in the lower 48 states for an additional fee

The standard USA-1b will lift a 200+ pound pilot on the hottest summer day.
